Foto Friday

This should be a Wordless Wednesday, but I actually had a post for Wednesday this week.

I cleaned out/organized my box of nutrition.  I think I am set for this training season. Or at least the first month or two.  I am assuming that I am not alone in having a crap load of nutrition products laying around.  Right??

    H put all of ours in (you guessed it) tupperware drawers haha. We have matched and raised your picture w/ our flipping supply.

    Turns out I trained almost all of last year not taking any nutrition on the run… hence just adding to our supply.

    None of that stuff expires right? Man, I hope not haha.

      And no doubt labeled as well. The big question is how she sorts them? By brand? Color? Caloric count? Flavor? The possibilities are endless!

      Technically it does have an expiration date but I honestly don’t know how they could really go bad.

        It’s been so long since I have dived in the goody jar (alright, that sounded awful haha) that I don’t remember. I somehow think it was all sorted by brand and by type of product like gus, bars, chomps etc.

        Actually, I sort them into three main categories: gels, gummies, and bars…each get their own little Tupperware drawer! Our Infinite powder even found a new home in our Lazy Susan sorted into Lock-and-Lock containers with their own scoops. Each one is labeled with a color coded sticker as to what’s what ;) OCD much? I would be glad to assist you in whatever organizational needs you might have, but I’m afraid you couldn’t afford me ;) Hahaha. And with that I thank you for providing me with my next blog topic!

    I cleaned out my Tupperware container full of sports nutrition about a month ago…I should be set for the upcoming year I think! I don’t ever remember buying these things, but somehow they’ve always collected. Also, since I generally feel really good on my rides, I put off eating, and come home with 2 of the 3 Gu packs I left with…bad idea, I know, but at least that explains the stash.

    Glad to know I’m not alone!

    I have a shelf in our pantry that is dedicated to the stuff. It is incredible how much of this I use.

    My only saving grace is I use Prolong from Herbalife24 instead of GUs/Gels and that saves a ton of room b/c it’s only a canister.

      I completely forgot about the canisters! It looks like I have about a dozen different ones at the moment (Perform and Gatorade mostly).

    Yeah, what Morgan said!

    When I was doing a ton of racing in 2010 I accumulated more training nutrition samples, and most of it I never used because I didn’t like it.

    Last year I only did like 4 races so I was able to purge a lot of it.

      Sadly, I hardly eat any of it. I mainly do the Gu Chomps for biking and the Gu for running. The rest of it has been collected in race goody bags and as give aways. Some of it I have never actually even tried. I’d do a giant blog giveaway but I’d feel bad giving away stuff that is most likely expired.

    I have two gels that I received from XLMIC for her Jingle Bell Hell “race”. Otherwise I own NONE of this stuff and haven’t really tried any of it yet. Need to get beyond a sprint race to really need it though.
