We had a great weekend last weekend. My brother-in-law Brad came over to visit. There was lots of leaf cleanup, football watching, some running, and a trip to the cider mill.
So many donuts…
Falling back an hour was nice for the extra hour of sleep. However, I hate the lack of sunlight in the afternoon/evening. I guess that just means it is headlamp season now.
I ordered a new bike trainer. However, it hasn’t arrived yet. I contacted the company I ordered it from only to find that despite ordering it on the 31st, it hasn’t shipped yet. The website lists it as “In Stock” but apparently that means nothing because they are waiting for more to come in. Unacceptable. I’m calling tomorrow to see how they can expedite it otherwise I’m cancelling my order.
I finally finished a project! We now have a new coffee table and two new end tables. We previously had a set of Ikea tables, but they were starting to show their age and we needed an upgrade. I’m really happy with how they turned out. Now I just need to finish our bar area… that I started last year… whoops!
Jason and I have declared November Anti-Captcha (word verification) Month. We are trying to rid the world of captcha one blog at a time. Think you still need the word verification on your blog? Chances are you don’t. If you are on Blogger, the captcha was probably turned on default because in the past, Blogger did not have good SPAM filtering. That has since changed rendering the word verification useless and simply a pain in the butt.
I started a strength/core program a few weeks ago. I’ve basically combined the Hundred Pushups, Two Hundred Situps, Two Hundred Squats, and Fifty Pullups workouts into a circuit workout. If you are interested in joining in on the fun, check out this Google Docs spreadsheet with all the details.
I’ve been watching a lot of movies lately – thank you Netflix!
- The Adjustment Bureau (Pretty good, intense, but easy to follow)
- Horrible Bosses (Crude, but funny)
- Hall Pass (Again, crude but hilarious)
- Everything Must Go (Disappointing for a Will Ferrell movie)
- Captain America (I’m always a sucker for a decent comic book to movie adaptation)
- Bridesmaids (Laughed maybe once. For all the hype, it was disappointing)
- Limitless (Good, not great)
- Knight and Day (Horrible. A train wreck from beginning to end. Tom Cruise, please stop “acting”)
- True Grit (Loved it. Harsh, unforgiving, but still had some moments of humor)
- X-Men: First Class (Really enjoyed it. See above about comic book adaptations)
Now that the heat is on, Bailey has discovered the heat register in my office. See that tiny white spot next to his back? Yep, that is the only piece of the register cover visible when the heat kicks on.
When he isn’t hogging my heat, he pretty much just lays around sleeping. Either that or he just sits looking out the window keeping an eye on the neighborhood. What a life. Makes me jealous
most some of the time.
I bring a Ziploc bag to the pool with me every time I swim. It contains my pool id and copy of whatever workout I am going to do. I kept adding each workout to the bag without removing the old ones. I decided to clean the bag out and had quite an impressive stack of old workouts. I’m thinking of taking them all and treating them as a grab bag. Just reach in, pull one out and that will be the swim workout for the day.
