Wiki Wiki Wednesday is back. I just don’t have time for much more today.
Thanks for all your comments/stories about about screw ups at races. It makes me feel a bit better that I am not alone in my frustration.
I’ve been sick for the past couple of days. I felt it coming on Monday. By Tuesday morning it was a full blown head cold. I consumed about a gallon and a half of fluids yesterday to try and flush it out. I also went to bed early and slept in today. I’m about 80% today. I feel great, but I’m still hacking up a bunch of phlegm.
Got a Gentle Leader for Bailey based on recommendations from my Mom and MattyO. Holy cow! They aren’t kidding when they say it is a miracle collar. He walks perfectly with it on. I’m going to try running with him this evening with it.
A Ninja stopped by our house the other day and left me this.
Stay tuned for details on the contents and a full review. I’m waiting till I am full healthy to that I can give them the review they deserve. Stay tuned for that.
All the complaining about Mother Nature seems to have finally come to end. (Sorry, I know I probably just jinxed it). We have had a solid stretch of awesome weather. Loving it.
I did some automotive work on Saturday that was a disaster. Took about 3 times as long as planned because things just kept going wrong. Finally got it taken car of though. I’m done doing my own automotive work though (outside of oil changes and regular maintenance). I’d rather pay someone and spend the time on my bike. Anyone in GR have a good recommendation for a mechanic???
I missed my bike ride on Saturday (because of the car work), so I did a three-a-day on Sunday. 10 mile run, 2100 yard swim, and then an hour and a half on the bike. Felt awesome and just enjoyed it.
Jennie Sherpa-ed for me on the run. She got to wear her padded bike skirt and bike jersey for the first time. She looked like a professional biker out there.
Randomly ran into a guy from highschool during my bike ride that I haven’t seen since graduation. Nice to catch up if only briefly.
We had my mom, brother, and his girlfriend over for dinner for Mother’s Day. Kept it simple and made grilled chicken and grilled vegetables. So good. Tasted just like summer.
I slept in this morning so I did my swim at lunch. I had Mary (former collegiate swimmer) next to me to push me. Ended up setting PRs for both the 200yd (2:53) and 400yd (5:50). I couldn’t believe it. The 400yd felt amazing. I felt long and smooth the entire time and negative split it. Got to the wall and could have kept going at the same pace. One of those swims where I just felt on.
Work continues to be crazy busy. I feel like I am being pulled in so many directions that I don’t have time for my own projects. The only time I get my own programming done seems be before 9:00 and after 5:00 when there aren’t any interruptions.
And finally, for all the Bailey fans out there:
I swear this dog could play fetch all day and never get tired.
Chewing on a wood chip? Who me? I would never do such a thing. Yes, Bailey is, piece by piece, trying to undo all of the work we did the other week spreading out woodchips by eating them.
