I have been doing my swims this week at a different pool as my regular pool is closed for spring break. It is a little bit further away, but it is a great alternative. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it is poorly lit so it seems drearier than it should.
One of my buddies, Rob, joined me for the early swim on Monday. Major props to him for getting up at 5:30AM on his spring break as a teacher. We’ll be meeting up again on Friday at a more reasonable hour. It is nice to have someone to push me at the pool – keeps me honest.
I know that I am getting up to early these days when Bailey looks at me, groans, puts his head back down and falls back asleep. Haha. If you remember, the reason I started the early swim was because of his small bladder and the fact that he needed to be taken out in the morning. Apparently his bladder has grown and now he just wants to sleep.
I had a headache all day yesterday, my off day. Tried taking Excedrin (I hate taking medication), but that didn’t help. I eventually did yoga and then joined Jennie for her run and the headache instantly went away. I should have just gone for a run in the morning and I would have been a lot more productive.
I am attempting to give up pop (soda) during training. I may splurge for special occasions (like taco or pizza night), but so far I have been pop free since March 27th. This is probably the longest I have gone without pop since I gave it up for a year in college. With my headache yesterday and the fact that I was exhausted, I almost relapsed. MattyO talked me down by reminding me that “pop = evil” and I took a 15 min (turned 30 minute) power nap instead.
The Village Cone Shop opens today. Yikes. Soft serve ice cream within walking distance. Could be trouble.
Work is starting to get crazy. We are doing a full redesign of our product and all of the preliminary work is wrapping up. Now it is time for the real work to begin.
I’m really looking forward to GC, but more specifically, the awesome people we are going to meet up with there; MattyO & Heather, Colleen & Tom, and BDD. Big thanks in advance to BDD for being the official Race Director (he will dispute this title, but just ignore him).
I picked up my P2 from the bike shop after dropping it off yesterday. When I dropped it off, they estimated 2-3 days for it to be ready. I got a call about 5 hours later that it was done. Grand Rapids Bike Company is the best!
Stay tuned for the outdoor debut of the P2 either this week or early next week depending on the weather. It finally has a name too! So stay tuned.
On the topic of the weather, I’m done talking about. No more complaining. I am taking the high road with the hopes that if I ignore her (mother nature), maybe she’ll go away.
Thanks for reading!
