I saw a couple of health items in the news today that I wanted to share in case anyone missed them.
The first is the 20 Worst Drinks in America. Part of the Eat This Not That series, it lists the sugar contents of 20 unhealthy beverages. It compares the drink to an alternative food source. For example, a Dairy Queen Caramel MooLatte has the same amount of sugar as 12 Dunkin Donuts Bavarian Creme Doughnuts. I should point out that the MooLatte is probably technically still healthier than the doughnuts when you factor in fat and calories, but the focus is just the sugar content.

I won’t spoil what the #1 worst drink is, but if you want to skip the slideshow, you can jump to it here. Yikes! Better schedule a LONG run after that one.
The second link comes from good old Brian Williams and NBC Nightly News. It includes the Worst Eats in Restaurants and points to a report put together by Nutrition Action. Let’s just say that you don’t want to carbo load with The Cheesecake Factory’s Pasta Carbonara. That is unless you want 2,500 calories and 85 grams of saturated fat.

I think I am going to go munch on some veggies and drink some water now. I can’t even look at anything sweet after that.
