Do I Smell?

While home ownership is one of the greatest things, there is never a dull moment.  It’s always something.  The latest repair is a broken washing machine.  The rubber gasket on the front of our washing machine ripped last night.  And I don’t mean a little tear.  It was a full blown tear from the bottom to the top, probably 18 inches long.  Needless to say, this caused all of the water to leak out and all over the floor.  Absolutely no idea why the stupid thing ripped.  There was nothing sharp in the load; mainly just towels.  It’s not like we are trying to wash a KA-BAR in there or anything.  I swear it has been nothing but problems with this stupid thing; from destroying clothes to smelling absolutely awful unless you leave the door open all the time to randomly breaking.  Last time we buy a front loading machine.

The replacement part has been ordered and it looks like a relatively easy repair, but it means what we are without laundry until the part comes in.  I guess I am going to have to squeeze a couple extra days out of my running clothes.  On the positive side, at least it is winter and I don’t get as sweaty and smelly as I do in the summer.

ahh yes, the “joy’s” of home ownership… who wouldn’t rather spend their money on some non-exciting thing for the house instead of a fun vacation? hope you can get it fixed soon so you wash those stinky clothes! 😉

Major bummer! I do a LOT of laundry, and its mostly for workout clothes. I would panic if this happened to me. Hope you can fix this QUICK.

We have a front loader and we have never had a problem with it. That would really suck to blow the gasket. The worst part of all would be putting on running clothes for a second run. Nasty.
