I went out for my long run today. I had hoped to get in 15. I got in less than 7. Yikes. It is my damn stomach again. I don’t know what is up with it. I was only about a mile and a half into the run when it started to feel all slushy. I managed to push on for a few more miles never straying too far from home; just in case. By the time I hit 6 miles, I knew I had enough. After I got home I had some 7-Up and crackers in hopes to settle my stomach, but no dice. I was able to choke down some dinner as well. Don’t get me wrong, the dinner (baked ziti by the lovely Jennifer) was delicious. It was just hard to put anything in my stomach at that point. After dinner, I crashed on the couch for a couple hours hoping that I would wake up healed and able to go out for an evening run to make up some of the missing miles. It doesn’t look like that is going to happen though.
I’ll probably take it easy tomorrow with a light swim and short bike ride around Reeds Lake to stretch out my legs a bit. Depending on how the race goes on Saturday, I may try the long run again on Sunday – fingers crossed.
