Today was my longest run so far this year; just shy of 19 miles. It was a great day for a run with the sun out and the temperature getting up to the mid thirties which is much more enjoyable than it was earlier this week. I ended up going out way overdressed with a hat and gloves which I shed very early on in the run. However, I was glad to have them for a few miles of the run that was straight into the wind. Jennie wanted to get out and bike along with me, but it hasn’t quite warmed up enough to do that yet. Nor are the streets and sidewalks clear enough to maneuver safely. Soon though and she will be right along there with me.
We were able to book the hotel and I finally registered for the marathon (Glass City 2008) so it is a done deal for April 13. I’m hoping that we can bring Jennie’s bike along so that she can bike to different parts of the course. Otherwise, judging by course, it will be hard to get around. Hopefully she can bike ahead, stick her nose in a book, cheer, and the hop back on the bike to the next stop.
Quote for the day: “Veronica and I are trying this new fad called uh, jogging. I believe it’s jogging or yogging. it might be a soft j. I’m not sure but apparently you just run for an extended period of time. It’s supposed to be wild.” -Ron Burgundy – Anchorman
